Veteran film actor and theatre personality Naila Azad Nupur's localized adapatation of JB Priestley's celebrated play, An Inspector Calls, is set to return to the stage at the Bangladesh Mahila Samity Complex Building today. The play will be staged at the same venue everyday, from today till Tuesday at 7:30pm.

The hit adaptation is set to feature the same cast as last year, and will begin at 7:30pm.

The cast includes Iresh Zaker, Baizid Haque Joarder, Mitul Mahmud, Wasi Noor Azam, Shakil Ahmed, Priyam Sarker, Samina Luthfa Nitra and Toufikul Islam Emon.

The play depicts the tragic tale of a poor girl who takes her own life at the beginning of the drama. A rich family, who were enjoying an engagement party for their own daughter, gets a visit from an inspector, who is investigating the girl's suicide.

This adaptation, by Jatrik Productions, was last seen at the same venue in December last year. At the time, the play received very good reviews from many theatre personalities of Bangladesh, such as Aly Zaker and Ramendu Majumdar. The latter described it as a "100% success."

Actor Naila Azad Nupur made her debut in the film Ghuddi released in 1980. Her appearances in films have been sporadic since, as she spends more time now as a teacher of scriptwriting and film, then acting.

She has also been gaining renown recently for her adaptations of Western classical dramas, in the relatable setting of the Indian sub-continent, for Bangladeshi audience. Her other notable adaptation is A Begum's Blunder.
