Bangladesh's first film on surfing, titled "Dare To Surf," began shooting in October of last year. Multiplex theatre Star Cineplex is producing the film, and it will premiere on the silver screen in October of this year.
The work for the film is complete. The Bangla name of the film, has not yet been announced, but will appear alongside the film's poster and trailer. A press conference will be held for the announcement on June 20.
The film, directed by Taneem Rahman Angshu, will star Shariful Raj and model Sunera in the lead roles.
The Senior Executive of Marketing at Star Cineplex Mesbah Uddin Ahmed told reporters: "Just like the subject of the film, the Bangla name will also have something unique. Through this story, we are trying to shine a light upon the struggles of a few youths who surf. Online promotion for the film will begin this week. The film will be released in October."
An international poster of the film is already making rounds on social media. The poster shows a girl, holding a surfboard, walking barefoot on a beach. She is wearing a red Benarasi saree and is in full bridal make-up. However, her expression shows some kind of longing.
