Partha Pratim Majumder stars in film with Naseeruddin Shah and Soumitra Chatterjee

The film 'Debotar Grash' also brings together the two veteran Indian actors on the silver screen for the first time

Internationally acclaimed Bangladeshi mime artiste Partha Pratim Majumder is starring in a film with Indian film stars Naseeruddin Shah and Soumitra Chatterjee.  

Partha Pratim has been living in Paris for over three decades and received the Ekushey Padak award in 2010. Previously, he appeared in many plays and films. 

The film “Debotar Grash” also brings together the two veteran Indian actors on the silver screen for the first time. 

Directed by Saibal Mitra, the Indian production will be released in both Kolkata and Bangladesh. This Bangla-language film is based on an American play, “Inherit the Wind,” written by Robert E Lee and Jerome Lawrence. 

Saibal Mitra’s direction credits include “Chitrokar,” “Shajarur Kanta,” and “Songshoy.”

Ace Bollywood actor Naseeruddin Shah will be seen acting in a Bangla film after a long time. 

Soumitra Chatterjee will be in a pivotal role in the film, while Partha Pratim will play the role of a priest. 

The cast of “Debotar Grash” also included Kaushik Sen, Anashua Majumdar, Subhrajit Dutta and Amrita Chatterjee in other major roles.

The film is being shot at various locations in Kolkata, such as Narayan Studio, Bolpur, Bardhaman, Birbhum and many other places. The release date for the film hasn’t been confirmed yet.
