On the occasion of  Eid-ul-Fitr, popular Bangladeshi singer Konal released a cover of renowned musician Tapan Chowdhury’s song, “Mone Koro”, on her official YouTube channel on June 6The song was originally released in Tapan's self-titled debut album back in 1985. All of the tracks from the popular album, produced under Sargam’s record label, were composed by the late rockstar, Ayub Bachchu.

The cover track’s musical arrangement was done by Jahid Nirob, and it was mixed and mastered by Anik Ahammed at a studio called Butter Communication.

The video, produced by Corpovisuals, was directed by Maruf Raihan.

In describing the video, Konal stated: “This song is a dedication to Khoshnur, the country's first commercially successful female lyricist. It is also a token of appreciation to our maestros Ayub Bacchu and Tapan Chowdhury. They are the reasons for our colourful childhood, and I personally want to pay homage to these legends through my music.

“This song is very dear to my heart, as it's a pure romantic, soothing number. I have always day-dreamed listening to this particular track and lost myself in the world of love and nature.

“I have tried to keep the track as calm and clean as possible with no extra noise, and have sung it in my own style. So, requesting everyone to not compare mine with the original piece!”

Tapan, who currently resides in Canada, recently told the press: “This was the first track from my first album. Konal did a very good job of covering the song. She took my permission before producing it. The musical arrangement was also very good. Bacchu would have been very happy to hear this.”
