The Goethe Institut hosted the screening of Kamar Ahmad Simon’s film “Testimony of a Thread” on Thursday.
The 50-minute film, shot a few years ago, features the monologues of the victims of Rana Plaza collapse.
The event was organized in memory of those victims, who were lost the deadliest industrial disaster in the history of Bangladesh, to mark the sixth anniversary of the tragedy.
The screening, open for all, was held in the main auditorium of Goethe Institut in Dhanmondi, Dhaka.
The film screening was followed by a question-and-answer session with the director. Renowned writer Sumon Rahman moderated the session.
On the morning of April 24 in 2013, the nine-storey Rana Plaza in Savar, on the outskirts of Dhaka, collapsed, killing more than 1,100 people and injuring more than 2, 500 injuries.
“Testimony of a Thread” has been produced by Sara Afreen and co-produced by NHK (Japan), KBS (Korea), PTS (Taiwan) and Mediacorp (Singapore).
