Trained in classical music, the veteran Indian singer performed at a musical soiree in front of a house-full audience on Friday evening
Watching Haimanti Sukla live was a lifetime-experience for me. Her melodious voice takes music lovers on a voyage of emotions and nostalgia. That experience cannot be described in words.
Trained in classical music, the veteran Indian singer performed at a musical soiree in front of a house-full audience Friday evening. The event was held at Alliance Française in Dhamondi.
While talking about her Bangladeshi fans, the legendary singer told Dhaka Tribune’s Showtime: “I enjoy coming to Bangladesh and performing here. Bangladeshi listeners have great spirit.
“It is their (fans) greatness that they have been listening to my songs for such a long time, and coming to my concert with enthusiasm. I thank them for this.”
Haimanti Sukla began her performance with a very popular number “Ogo brishti amar chokher pata chuyo na.”
Next song she sang was “ Thikana na rekhe.” “Ami obujher moto eki korechhi” made the audience emotional.
The maestro delivered a brilliant performance on “De De Re Shokhi Chokhe.” When she sang, “Amar boler kichhu chhilo na,” I am sure many viewers shed a tear or two.
The event ended with “Ami sukhi holey.” The audience went back home with the heart filled with bliss of good music.
The event also featured CD launch of Manzurul Islam Khan. He also presented a few songs at the concert.
