The second solo sculpture exhibition by Farzana Islam Milky, titled “Rhythm of Life 2,” has begun at the La Galerie of Alliance Française de Dhaka.

MP and prominent cultural personality Asaduzzaman Noor attended the inaugural ceremony on Friday as the chief guest, while Dhaka University’s Faculty of Fine Arts teacher Prof Lala Rukh Selim was also present as the guest of honour.

Farzana is a sculptor who sees the human figure in a variety of activities and environments. Her sculptures tell stories of people and their relationship with each other and the environment.Everyday activities of human life, interactions between people, people and nature, people within man made architectural settings are the subjects of her sculptures.

The human form and its movements create a mood, not focusing on details of expression. Her narratives create an effect which is not dramatic, but more like a moment caught in time. She also deals with the everyday and the ordinary, trying to capture a significant moment in the flow of life.

The solo exhibition, featuring 28 sculptures, will remain open to all till April 19.
