The first film anthology of Bangladesh, “Sincerely Yours, Dhaka” is gaining accolades at international film festivals one after another. The film will next screen at the Cambodia International Film Festival which is to end on March 14.
The news was confirmed by the creative producer of the film, Abu Shahed Emon. Two screenings of “Sincerely Yours, Dhaka” will take place at the festival. The screenings will be at 1pm on March 10, and 8pm on March 13.
Abu Shahed Emon told Showtime: “After pitching the idea to Channel i, I invited the 11 directors to contribute to this anthology. The idea was to pay a tribute to Dhaka, the city we love, but also find hard to love. I spent six months with the directors, just to go over the stories they would contribute. What I liked was that each film in the anthology is representative of the perception of the director.
“Currently the film is with the censor board. As soon as it is cleared, we plan to release it either by first Eid or after it, but it is too early to tell,” Emon added.
