‘Jodi Akdin’ starring Tahsan, Srabanti hits theatres

The premiere show of the film took place at the capital’s Star Cineplex in Bashundhara City on Friday morning

Bangladeshi Film-maker Muhammad Mostafa Kamal Raz’s latest feature film, “Jodi Akdin,” starring popular Bangladeshi singer and actor Tahsan Khan, Tollywood star Srabanti Chatterjee, and famed Bangladeshi actor Taskeen Rahman, was released in theatres across Bangladesh on Friday (March 8).

The premiere show of the film took place at the capital’s Star Cineplex in Bashundhara City on Friday morning. Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud was chief guest at the event. The film’s cast, crew, and many celebrities of the industry, including actors Chanchal Chowdhury, Nusrat Imrose Tisha, Sabnam Faria, Ashna Habib Bhabna, and film-maker Animesh Aich, were present at the event.

At the event, Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud told the press: “The long hiatus in Bangladesh’s film industry has finally ended. Audiences are going to film theatres with their friends and families again. ‘Jodi Akdin’ is a quality family film which you can enjoy with your family and friends.”

“I also hope that movies won’t just be entertainment elements but will also help shape our society for the better. They will help the new generation to dream big and build a better country,” the minister added.

The film’s lead cast ,Srabanti, came to Dhaka from Kolkata on Friday afternoon and attended a few promotional campaigns across Dhaka. Later on she went to Star Cineplex’s Shimanto Shambhar branch in Dhanmondi in the evening with the film’s cast and crew to watch the film with the audience. She also took part in a meet and greet session after the show.

“Jodi Akdin,” produced by Bengal Multimedia, is now running in Star Cineplex (Bashundhara City), Star Cineplex (Shimanta Shambhar), Blockbuster Cinemas (Jamuna Future Park), Shyamoli (Dhaka), Balaka (Dhaka), Silver Screen (Chittagong), and many other theatres across Bangladesh.
