The ‘12th International Children’s Film Festival Bangladesh 2019’ raises its curtains today on Saturday (March 2) with the slogan “Future in Frames.” The week-long event, organized by Children’s Film Society Bangladesh (CFS), will take place from March 2 till March 8 at 4 venues across Dhaka.
Eminent Personality, National Professor Anisuzzaman, inaugurated the event at 4:00pm at the capital’s Central Public Library premises. Other distinguished personalities including Information Minister of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, Dr Hasan Mahmud, prominent film-maker Syed Salahuddin Zaki, President of CFS, Dr. Muhammed Zafar Iqbal, renowned filmmaker and founder of CFS Bangladesh, Morshedul Islam, General Secretary Munira Morshed Munni, and festival director of the 12th International Children’s Film Festival Bangladesh 2019, Mohammad Abir Ferdous, presented their speeches during the event.
The opening films screened on Saturday were “5 rupees” (India) and “Captain Kathal in Baaper Rasta: The Wrong Road” (Bangladesh).
The venues of the film festival are Showkat Osman Hall, Sufia Kamal Auditorium, British Council Auditorium, and Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy’s, Chitrashala.
