The fest was inaugurated by Professor Shibli Rubayat Ul Islam, dean of the Faculty of Business Studies, and chief guest Professor Nasreen Ahmad, pro-vice chancellor of the University of Dhaka
FBS Music Wing, a music club of Dhaka University's Faculty of Business Studies, hosted Falgun Music Fest 1425 on Wednesday. It is their signature event that welcomes spring through music and festivities, and it was graciously held for the fourth consecutive year on the Faculty of Business Studies premises.
The fest was inaugurated at 2pm by Professor Shibli Rubayat Ul Islam, dean of the Faculty of Business Studies, and chief guest Professor Nasreen Ahmad, pro-vice chancellor of the university.
The music fest included performances by the artistes of FBS Music Wing in the first half, and performances by two other popular bands in the latter half. The music club’s singers performed folk, Rabindra, Nazrul, fusion and songs of many other genres. The stage was then taken over by renowned bands Shohortoli and Mizan & Brothers respectively.
The title sponsor of the fest was Atom Gum, a product of PRAN Group. Dhaka Tribune, Somoy TV, and Radio Dhol 94.0 FM were media partners of the event.
FBS Music Wing has been dedicated to developing a culture of quality music at the Faculty of Business Studies, University of Dhaka, ever since its inception in 2015. Apart from the annual Falgun Music Fest, the club also organizes regular workshops and jamming sessions for its members. It works to nurture them in such a way that they can grow not only as musicians, but also as good human beings, and also get pointers for their future corporate careers.
