'The theatres in the new branch of Star Cineplex in Mirpur will be equipped with state-of-the-art Dolby Atmos Sound System, silver screens and other international multiplex facilities'
The capital’s Mirpur area will get its first multiplex cinema theatre by the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha at the prestigious Sony Cinema Hall in collaboration with Star Cineplex. The news was confirmed by Star Cineplex Senior Manager of Media and Marketing, Mesbah Uddin Ahmed.
Star Cineplex authorities are scheduled to sign a contract with Sony Cinema Hall officials on Monday, according to Mesbah.
Mahboob Rahman, chairman of Star Cineplex, and Sony Cinema Hall director and film producer, Mohammad Hossain, will be present during the signing ceremony.
“The theatres in the new branch of Star Cineplex in Mirpur will be equipped with a state-of-the-art Dolby Atmos Sound System, silver screens, and other international multiplex facilities,” said Mesbah Uddin Ahmed.
Star Cineplex will also launch their new branch in the newly built Sena Kalyan Sangstha (SKS) Tower at Mohakhali in May.
Previously, they opened a brand new branch in Shimanto Shambhar Shopping Complex in Dhanmondi on January 26, which houses three theatres.
Star Cineplex, the country’s first multiplex cinema company, initially extended its service to Cox’s Bazar from the eighth floor of Bashundhara City Shopping Complex in Panthapath, back in July 2016. But the 200 seat theatre in Sayeman Resorts discontinued its service since late 2017.
