In the election season many celebrities and media personalities have participated in campaigning for Awami League. They believe the Awami League will be elected again and will keep working for the people of Bangladesh under Sheikh Hasina’s leadership.
In this article we have showcased three popular actors of the Dhaka Film Industry who have supported Awami League in the election campaign.
Renowned actor Riaz Uddin Ahamed Siddique, commonly known as Riaz, has become a household name for his outstanding performances on the big screen and TV cinemas for over two decades. The current Vice President of Bangladesh Film Artist Association has also been active in the election season and has been supporting the Awami League election campaign.
Prime Minister and Awami League President Sheikh Hasina kicked off her election campaign from Gopalganj's Tungipara. Actor Riaz accompanied the Prime Minister during the campaign. He asked for votes wearing a Mujib coat. In his speech Riaz said: “If you have ever enjoyed my acting, please vote for ‘Nouka,’ that is all I want in return if I have entertained my audiences at all throughout my career.”
“I am honoured to be able to be here,” he added.
Actor Ferdous joined the campaign to show his support for Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. He was also part of Sheikh Hasina’s election campaign which kicked off from Tungipara on December 12. Sharing the stage with fellow actor Riaz, Ferdous said: “This election is very important for us, as it is a question of our existence; therefore, I request the youngsters to vote for ‘Nouka’.”
“We want to take our country forward under Sheikh Hasina’s leadership.”
The King of Dhallywood, Shakib Khan posted a video message on his Facebook page on December 17 in which he endorsed Awami League for the forthcoming election. In the video Shakib Khan conveyed a message to his fans and urged they vote for Awami League. He said: “Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has become the “Mother of humanity” to Bangladeshis and to the world for her compassionate and kind nature.”
“We support Bangladesh from the bottom of our hearts,” he added.
In the video, Shakib Khan was seen reciting a few lines from Tagore.
