Hollywood celebrity Tilda Swinton mesmerized her audience as she read an excerpt from the book “Last and First Men: A Story of the Near and Far Future” on the second day of Dhaka Lit Fest 2018.
K Anis Ahmed, one of the DLF directors, welcomed Swinton on stage with a brief introduction. Swinton is attending DLF for the second time in a row.
“Ever since I left Dhaka, I have been longing to come back here. Thank you so much for welcoming all of us here,” she said at the event on Friday.
The reading session was Swinton’s first public reading session which was meditative and took the audience on a journey to future. She looked magnificent in a blue kurta, and her magical voice engaged the audience with the story.
The Oscar-winning actor has lent her voice in a film based on the story written by Olaf Stapledon.
The film, directed by Jóhann Jóhannsson, will be premiered in December in London.
