Ten finalists vying for Miss World Bangladesh 2018 crown

The candidate who is chosen to be Miss World Bangladesh will participate in the Miss World competition, to be held on December 7 in China

The top 10 finalists of Miss World Bangladesh 2018 has been selected on Friday. They are Shirin Shila, Monjira Bashar, Nishat Nawar Salwa, Ishrat Jahan Sabrin, Smitha Tumpa Baroi, Afrin Sultana Laboni, Sumona Nath Ananya, Naziba Bushra, Jannatul Ferdous Oishi and Jannatul Mawa. The winner from the 10 finalists, who will represent Bangladesh in Miss World 2018, will be selected at the Grand Finale held at Rajdarshan hall of International Convention Center Bashundhara on Sunday evening. The show will be aired live on ATN Bangla on Sunday from 7.30pm.

DJ Sonica and RJ Nirob will be anchoring the show jointly. Model Sujon, actor Tarin, singer Shuvro Dev, model Emi and barrister Farabi made up the judges' panel for this year's Miss World Bangladesh. They will also be judging at the grand finale along with celebrity icon judges Shafin Ahmed and Hamin Ahmed from the band Miles and Anisul Islam Hiru.

Antar Showbiz conducted the selection process at a beautiful set constructed at the Bangladesh Film Development Corporation. After auditions of more than 30 thousand girls who registered online, selection, and performance based rounds, these top ten contestants have been selected by the judges. They were groomed at the newly built Hotel Royal Paradise in Gulshan 2. Ivan Shahriar Shohag coordinated their dance choreography for the grand finale.

The candidate who is chosen to be Miss World Bangladesh will participate in the Miss World competition, to be held on December 7 in China. The organizers said they will get three months before the final selection of Miss World. World famous groomer, Nayanika Chatterjee, will be preparing the winner of Miss World Bangladesh in these three months. Since 1996, with the help of Nayanika several contestants have won the tiara for Miss World.

Miss World Bangladesh is being presented by Diamond World. It is powered by Prem’s Collection, and co-powered by Step Footwear. The broadcasting partner is ATN Bangla, Ekattor TV is the TV news partner, the hospitality partner is Royal Paradise Hotel, Jaago News24 is the online partner, and Jaago FM 94.4 is their FM radio partner.

Previously, Jessia Islam was selected as the face to represent Bangladesh last year in the main competition of Miss World 2017. Jannatul Nayeem Avril, the former Miss World Bangladesh 2017 champion’s title was disqualified followed by all the controversies about her past marriage and more. Jessia was later on announced as the new Miss World Bangladesh by the organisers at a press conference on October 4 at The Westin Dhaka hotel in Gulshan. Jessia represented Bangladesh on the world stage and got disqualified during the semifinal rounds.
