Purvis and Wade have written six films in the highly lucrative Bond franchise

Longtime James Bond movie writers Neal Purvis and Robert Wade have been re-hired to complete “Bond 25” after director Danny Boyle’s exit, The Daily Mail reported.

The exit of Boyle and screenwriter John Hodge in August over “creative differences” led to the reported postponement of the 25th Bond movie. Shooting was to have started in December, and the Daniel Craig-starrer was to have been released in October 2019.

According to The Daily Mail, Purvis and Wade, who had originally been hired to write the screenplay, are back on the project.

“The Purvis and Wade treatment they wrote earlier was already signed off before the bromance with Danny Boyle and John Hodge began,” an unnamed Hollywood executive told The Daily Mail.

Purvis and Wade have written six films in the highly lucrative Bond franchise, including “The World is Not Enough” (1999), “Casino Royale” (2006) and “Spectre” (2015).

No replacement for Boyle has been announced yet.
