Chhayanaut observed the 42nd death anniversary of national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam on Friday. To commemorate the poet’s work, Chhayanaut organized a cultural program at their main auditorium.
The event comprised of solo and chorus songs along with recitations from him poems. A group of veteran musicians set off the function with a chorus of “Shubhro Samujjol Hey Chiro-Nirmol,” followed by songs like, “Shiuli Phule Mala Dole,” “Mrittu Nai Nai Dukkho,” “Ore Neel Jamunar Jol,” and “Snigdha Shyam Beni Barna.”
Prominent artists such as Tanvir Ahmed, Nusrat Jahan Runa, Nahyan Durdana Shuchi and Suman Majumder performed solo songs while Krishty Hefaz and Rafiqul Islam rendered poetry recitations at the program.
The concluding song, “Sobuj Shobhar Dheu Khele Jay” was performed by a group of child artists. The event closed with the national anthem of Bangladesh.
