Anam Biswas’ feature film “Debi,” based on famous Bangladeshi writer Humayun Ahmed’s novel of the same title, from the popular “Misir Ali” series, will have to reschedule its release date to October. It was due to be released on September 7 according to previous announcement.

‘Debi’ isn't just a film to me. Now it is my property and at present t all my well-wishers.
“I want to present it to the audience on a special date, and on a special occasion. I am eagerly waiting to see the famous characters of Misir Ali, Ranu, Anis, Neel, Ahmed Sabet, who were all created by Humayun Ahmed, on the big screen, and I am certain that all of you are equally excited as me. With due respect to all your anticipation, I would like to ask for another month from all of you.
“As Debi received a government grant the grants committee will see the film. Then the jury members of the censor board will watch it. After their opinion we can finally take ‘Debi’ to you. If everything is right then ‘Debi’ will get its theatrical release across the major theatres of the country around mid October,” she added.
She also thanked the audience who were supportive throughout their journey, and hopes that they will continue to support them. She also thanked the press for their attention which is a blessing to her as a new producer.
Apart from Jaya, the film “Debi” stars Chanchal Chowdhury along with Iresh Zaker, Animesh Aich, and Sabnam Faria in major roles.
Popular singer Momtaz sang the film’s song “Doyel Pakhi Konna Re,” which was written by Rakib Hasan Rahul and composed by Pritom Hasan. The track was released on August 25 on Jaaz Multimedia YouTube channel.
