Popular television actor Tazin Ahmed passed away at Regent Hospital in Uttara, Dhaka on Tuesday
Popular TV actor Tazin Ahmed passed away on Tuesday afternoon due to a heart attack she suffered earlier in the day.
She was taken to the Regent Hospital in Uttara unconscious around 3:15pm and took her last breath around 4:30pm.
According to reports, Tazin Ahmed was immediately taken to the hospital after she started suffering from heart problems. The actor had a heart attack at her home in Uttara around 10am and was immediately taken to a nearby hospital. Later on she was transferred to Regent Hospital, where a duty doctor pronounced her dead at around 4:30pm after performing an AED and ECG. She was kept in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
Though she had asthma, any heart issues were not public knowledge.
A Mass Communication and Journalism graduate from Dhaka University, Tazin Ahmed started her career on TV during the mid-nineties. Her first TV appearance was on “Shesh Dekha Shesh Noy,” a BTV drama . Tazin continued working in stage theatre too. She had been working for Aranyak Natyadal since 2000. Before that, she worked with Natyajan.
Tazin worked for various renowned media houses as well, including Bhorer Kagoj and Prothom Alo, as a journalist. She had also worked as a public relations officer at Mercantile Bank.
Besides acting on the small screen and in theatre, Tazin Ahmed is also known for her work as a director and a TV anchor, as well as a playwright. “Jatak” and “Jogphol” are two plays she wrote and directed.
