Kaushik Hossain Taposh, musician, managing director and CEO at Gaan Bangla, has received the Dadasaheb Phalke Excellence Award 2018 for Best Singer and Music Composer in Bangladesh.
The prestigious award was handed over to him by “Baahubali” star Rana Daggubati.
Each year the award is facilitated by the Mumbai-based Dadasaheb Phalke Foundation. This year the award ceremony took place in Mumbai on April 21 where the A-listers of the entertainment industry graced the red carpet starting from Bollywood's Karan Johar to Rajkummar Rao.
After receiving the award, Taposh expressed his emotion through his official Facebook page. He posted: “Honoured to receive the most prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Excellence Award 2018 as the first ever Bangladeshi composer! Grateful to the almighty Allah for his plan.”
While receiving the award he dedicated his achievement to his wife Farzana Munny and his children Nyah, Nazora & Nazish. He also thanked his Gaan Bangla Team, Wind of Change team and OMZ family. He also mentioned that it was a proud moment for him as a Bangladeshi.
Kaushik Hossain Taposh is also a winner of 38th National Film Awards, presented by Ministry of Information in 2013 for the film “Purno Doirgho Prem Kahini.”
