Chirkutt’s Sumi receives Ananya Shirsha Dosh award

Singer and vocalist of Chirkutt Sharmin Sultana Sumi was awarded the “Ananya Shirsha Dosh”  on Saturday at Bangla Academy. Ananya magazine has honoured 10 women, including Sumi, for outstanding contribution to society. Sumi was awarded in the music category. Receiving the award, Sumi expressed joy over social media. She dedicated the achievement to her band mates. In her Facebook post, Sumi wrote, “I want to acknowledge sincerest gratitude towards the almighty and all the people who have helped me reach this position. Everybody, including my ever supportive mother, brother and sister, was present there. It felt great to see such response. “My band members could not attend the programme for certain reasons. Although they could not be present there, I dedicated my award to them.”
