Indian envoy opens drama fest in Rajshahi
Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Harsh Vardhan Shringla inaugurated the “Bangladesh-India Maitri Natyotsab,” organized by department of theatre, Rajshahi University on Monday. A total of thirteen theatre groups are participating in the festival, including three - Shruti Performing Troupe, Ashoknagar Natyomukh, and Lok-krishti - from India. The High Commission has a long standing relationship with University of Rajshahi and has been particularly privileged to support the University’s music, theatre and Sanskrit and mass communications, according to a press release. The High Commissioner also visited India-financed urban development projects in Rajshahi. He was accompanied by Fazle Hossein Badsha, MP, Rajshahi Sadar, Mosaddek Hossein Bulbul, Mayor, Rajshahi City Corporation and other stakeholders of the projects. The High Commissioner also visited the 105-year old historic Varendra Research Museum that contains an invaluable stock of old books and manuscripts.
