Star-BracU Short Film Contest 2018, jointly organised by Star Cineplex and Brac University, held their grand finale on March 15.
Members of the jury panel, Subarna Mustafa, Gias Uddin Selim and Afsana Mimi and Star Cineplex Chairman Mahbub Rahman handed out the awards to the winners at the grand event. The three winners got 50, 30 and 20 thousand taka respectively. The winners will also get the opportunity attend international film related workshops and to work on a major feature film set in near future. They also received attractive gift hampers from the organisers.
The topic of the short film contest was the 'drug related problems in Bangladesh and its prevention.' Contestants posted their films made on the issue on the event's Facebook page from February 25 to March 10. Three films were declared winners on the basis of points given by the jury and Facebook likes on those films.
Institutions including Brac University, American International University Bangladesh, Independent University Bangladesh, North South University, East West University, Bangladesh University of Professionals, Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology, Military Institute of Science and Technology, United International University, Daffodil University, University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh and many more participated in the contest sponsored by Rexona.
