Bangladeshi model and actor Sabnam Faria recently donated to the Mirpur-12 slum fire incident. Around 8,000 shanties were gutted and four people, including women and children, injured in the devastating fire on March 12.
Faria was shaken by the plane crash and the slum fire events and could not celebrate her preplanned birthday party, scheduled on March 14, in such hard times. On Thursday she took to Facebook, thanked everyone for their wishes and explained these to her fans.
She wrote: “For the first time in my life I could not ‘celebrate’ my birthday. The past few events have shaken my core! I knew life is unpredictable but it hit me hard!”
“Yet I must say, I am a lucky person. I have been showered with countless blessings and unconditional love! So, here's my heartfelt thank you note to all of those who wished me, sent their blessings, delivered cake and gifts to my home! I can't thank you all enough! Thank you for making my gloomy day a special one,” she also wrote.
Then she explained: “I have decided to donate the money I wanted to spend for my birthday party to the victims of Mirpur slum fire incident. I couldn't bear to watch them suffer!”
She also asked everyone to keep her in their prayers.
