Joy Bangla Concert: Congregating a new generation

Update : 09 Mar 2018, 10:11 PM
Music can be the bridge between youth and history. Keeping this principal in mind, Young Bangla has been organizing the Joy Bangla Concert every year since 2015 on the anniversary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s historic March 7 speech. This year a line up of leading and popular bands enthralled the crowds with their original songs and their renditions of patriotic and motivational songs of “Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra,” which inspired our war heroes during the Liberation War. Apart from the musical performances, there were also some presentations on the historic March 7 at the Joy Bangla Concert 2018

The main event started with a rendition of “Maa Go Bhabna Keno,” by thrash metal band Powersurge, who were performing at this event for the first time. They also performed some of their popular tracks like “Auprostut Juddho,” “Agnisnan” and “Mitther Agrason.”

Arbovirus performed their own rendition of “Amra Korbo Joy” and their original tracks “Jalo Agun Jalo,” “Shohor,” “Hariye Jao,” and “Omanush.” Their segment was followed by a promo on “Mujib,” the graphic novel based on the life of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman

This year for the first time, the main concert was preceded by a two-concert road show by bands Nemesis and Mechanix. Lalon, Chirkutt and Artcell took the stage at the later part of the concert
