Reality show Young Leaders Program steps into its 5th season
After the successful completion of 4 seasons, Channel i will organize the Young Leaders Program (YLP) for the 5th time this year. A press conference was organized at Channel i office, Tejgaon, Dhaka, recently in this regard. Faridur Reza Sagar, managing director, Impress Telefilm Limited (Channel i), Abdul Muktadir, managing director of Incepta Pharmaceuticals Limited and Taslim Ahmed, chief executive officer of Unitrend Limited spoke at the press conference. Renowned corporate personalities were also present at this program. YLP is a reality show that brings together the young brilliant minds of our country to showcase their leadership skills. In the initial stage, about a thousand graduates from different universities are selected based on the applicant criteria. After a written test and interview, 40 contestants move on to the next round. Like last year, there will also be teachers from universities who will help the YLP judges team in the selection process and in grooming the participants as mentors this year. Each year YLP includes judges who are renowned figures in the corporate world. Abdul Muktadir, managing director of Incepta Pharmaceuticals Ltd. and Taslim Ahmed, chief executive officer of Unitrend Limited and Consultant, ICAB (Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh) are the fixed members of the judging panel. In addition, reputed corporate personalities join in the judging panel each year. During every season YLP team works with many companies who provide the participants with real tasks relating to their brands. In YLP, the contestants are given a week long deadline to complete the task after which they face the board room judging panel where they have to showcase their ideas. During each round, contestants are eliminated until YLP judges end up with the top 5-10 young leaders who are awarded scholarship to study abroad. The youth of this country have immense potential to do great things home and abroad. So with this show, Channel i is trying to give them a platform through which they can grow, fulfill their ambitions, and make the country proud.
