Famous singer from the 80s Sabah Tani has passed away at her home in Dhaka's Uttara. She was 49.
Her body was found in a bathroom at her home on Monday.
She has been suffering from low blood pressure for a long time, said family members.
The cause of death, however, is yet to be determined.
Confirming Tani's death, singer Dinat Jahan Munni said: "Her body is currently at her house. I am heading there right now."
Musician Fuad Naser Babu, who was also going to Tani's home, said: "I have heard too that she died from low blood pressure."
Tani lived with her mother in the Uttara residence. Her mother went to her sister's house at Eskaton on Sunday and spent the night there. Tani, who was alone at home, could not be reached over phone by family members and others since Sunday night.
On Monday morning, her relatives and the building's caretaker broke the flat's door to get in and later found her lying on the bathroom's floor.
Although she became famous with her singing in the 80s and 90s, Sabah Tani had left the spotlight rather silently. After that, she was never regular on stage.
However, Tani was seen as a judge in the Sylhet region selection round of the reality show Closeup-1's 2012 edition.
After a long hiatus, she had also made appearances in several live music programs on television in 2016.
