For the first time in their career, two acclaimed Bangladeshi actors, Zahid Hasan and Fazlur Rahman Babu, are going to be featured in an Indian film.
Titled “Sitara,” the film will also feature Indian actor M Nassar, known for his role “Bijjaladeva” in blockbuster film “Baahubali,” and Raima Sen in pivotal roles.
Based on eminent writer Abul Bashar's novel “Bhorer Prosuti”, “Sitara” will be made in Bangla and Telegu, and see Hasan take on the role of Dilu, while Fazlur Rahman Babu dons the role of the husband of the titular character, played by Raima Sen.
“A good-hearted person, Dilu goes travelling with Sitara and immediately falls in love with each other. But their relationship eventually fails to see a happy ending,” Zahid Hasan told the press earlier about his character.
The “Shrabon Megher Din” actor has already left for India's Cooch Behar and will join the shooting on Monday.
Fazlur Rahman Babu, who will play Sitara's husband, will join the team on February 10. Aside from his acting, Babu also voiced a number for the film, the lyrics for which was penned by Tariq Tuhin.
Directed by Ashish Kumar Roy, the story of “Sitara” revolves around the bootlegging that occurs across the borders of Bangladesh and India. In turn of events, Sitara's smuggler husband leaves her with a notorious moneylender, played by Nassar, who eventually starts abusing her. The film, then, goes on to depict the struggle of Sitara.
“Dohar” famed musician Kalikaprasad Bhattacharjee was the music director of the film. However, after his unfortunate demise, Emon Saha has taken over the role.
Starting from Monday, February 5, the first slot of shooting for “Sitara” will take place in different locations on the bank of Teesta River for 30 days at a stretch.
