Actor-turned-Islamic-preacher Ananta Jalil has distributed winter clothing among underprivileged people in Barisal's Gouronadi on Monday.
Riding a helicopter along with his son Arij Ibn Jalil and 3 other acquaintances, Ananta travelled to Barisal on Monday morning.
“We will start our work from Gouronadi upazila and we are planning to distribute winter clothing among the underprivileged people of two-three other nearby areas as well,” Ananta said in a Facebook post before his departure for Barisal.
“If possible, please stand beside the poor people,” he added.
Aside from lending a hand to the poor, Ananta also preached Islam among the communities.

Ananta is popular as an actor, director, producer, businessman, philanthropist and most recently – as a preacher of Islam. He owns and runs three orphanages and a retirement home for senior citizens located in Dhalla, Hemayetpur, Dhaka. He also donated a huge sum of money to the victims of the 2013 Savar Rana plaza disaster.
Ananta’s identity as a philanthropist was widely publicised once again recently, when he provided assistance to almost 2,400 flood-affected families in three unions in Kurigram.
