‘Abdullah Al-Mamun Theatre School’ celebrated its 27th anniversary with the slogan “Alakshikha Jaluk Prane” on Friday at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy. The day long festival started at 10.30 am with a seminar titled ‘‘Classical Theatre and Contemporary Production Experiment’’ presented by renowned theatre personality professor Abdus Selim then a colourful rally started from Nandan Mancha, BSA to National Press Club and returned to the venue. Current and ex-students of Theatre School as well as teachers and theatre workers joined the rally with various placards. Asaduzzaman Noor, cultural affairs minister, was present as the Chief Guest during these formalities. Mr. Ramendu Majumdar, Principal, Abdullah Al-Mamun Theatre School, presided over the session and Syed Apon Ahsan, Convener, Festival Celebration Committee delivered the welcome speech.
Asaduzzaman Noor said that Abdullah Al-Mamun Theatre School has been producing theatre workers, actors and directors for the last 27 years and they are doing good in stage, television and film sectors of this country. He wished his best to the school while mentioning these. The official website of Theatre School was also launched during this program. A crest handed over to Khurshid Alam, Superintendent, Theatre School, as a recognition memorandum of his dedication towards the school. After all the formalities ex-students of the school performed solo & group choreographs, drama songs and a collage from different productions by the Theatre School.
