“Putro,” starring Jaya Ahsan, got released on Friday in more than 100 theatres all over the nation. The special film was co-produced by Information Ministry’s Film and Publication Department. It is based on the story of an autistic child.
Produced by Impress Telefilm, filmmaker Saiful Islam Mannu directed “Putro”. The storyline revolves around the challenges of raising an autistic child in our society.
Jaya renders the role of a school teacher, as Ferdous portrays the father of the special child played by 10-year-old Lazim.
Jaya, who is currently in Kolkata, released a video message from her official Facebook page where she said, “This is a special film and one which usually doesn’t attract producers. From that perspective, I must thank the government. The film is based on an autistic child. There are many children around us like him and we never realise that they might have some hidden talents in them. This film will give strength to the parents of these special children.”
The film, released in a total of 105 theatres, is distributed by Jaaz Multimedia.
