Warfaze fifth in Top 10 Hard Rock Bands around the world
Warfaze, the pioneer heavy metal band of Bangladesh, has been listed fifth on the popular website thetoptens.com in the category of 'Top ten hard rock bands' around the world. The toptens.com is a renowned online website where fan around the globe can vote their choice in various categories and eventually according to the vote count the website makes a ranking of various categories. Warfaze band leader and Drummer Sheikh Monirul Alam Tipu informed Dhaka Tribune that Warfaze had been on the top ten list for last three years. “We are in the fifth position in the music category of hard rock bands. We did not believe ourselves at first when we heard the news. But it is true we are in that list and we can understand its value now,” said Warfaze band leader Tipu at the band’s practice pad on Monday. “The feeling is great. Other bands had fluctuation in that list but we are still there and holding the fifth spot,” he added. The number one hard rock band in the list is Australian hard rock band ACDC, second spot belongs to American band Guns N Roses, third spot goes to English rock band Led Zepplin and American hard rock band Metallica is in the fourth spot on Tuesday (December 19). The next five spots are taken by Bon Jovi, Aerosmith, Iron Maiden, Queen and Van Helen respectively. Warfaze was formed in 1984 and since then it produced seven studio albums and one compiled album in their long musical career. These albums are Warfaze (1991), Obaak Valobasha (1994), Jibon Dhara (1997), Oshamajik (1998), Aalo (2001), Moharaj (2003), Poth Chola (2008), Shotto (2012). The band is currently working on their eighth studio album which will be released in 2018. The band is also recording another compilation album from the previous tracks and titled as ‘Pothchola 2’, informed band leader Tipu. Among Bangladeshi bands, Aurthohin occupied the 20th spot in the category of “Hard Rock Bands” and Artcell is in 28th spot.
