One of Deepto TV's widely popular historical fiction television series, “Sultan Suleyman,” comes to an end. The finale episode of the mega serial is set to air on November 23.
Considering the huge demand from the audience, Deepto TV, however, has stipulated to re-air the last season of the series from beginning from November 25.
Written by Meral Okay and Yılmaz Şahin, the Turkish historical fiction television series is based on the life of Ottoman Sultan Suleyman the Magnificent, the longest-reigning Sultan of the Ottoman Empire, and his wife Hurrem Sultan, a slave girl who later was known as the Sultanate of Women.
The series also focuses on the relationships among the members of the imperial household, especially romantic entanglements and rivalries.
The main plot revolves around the animosity between Hurrem Sultan and Mahidevran Sultan, Hurrem’s rise as Suleyman’s favourite, her fall out with her husband after giving birth to a daughter and her eventual return to grace among other numerous sub-plots.
To retain audience's rising demand, the TV channel is all set to air a spinoff, “Sultan Suleyman: Kosem,” from February next year.
The spinoff will recount the life of Mahpeyker Kosem Sultan, a slave girl who became one of the most powerful women in Ottoman history, after she was captured and sent to the harem of Sultan Ahmed I.
