Bangladesh’s Jessia Islam, who had made it to the “Final 40” at the 67th Miss World 2017, was eliminated during the semi-finals of the beauty competition. The “Miss World Bangladesh” winner had competed with contestants from a total of 120 countries in the initial “Head to Head Challenge” and had made it to the “Final 40” for the grand finale. Jessia was also ranking in second place in public voting. Since she has been eliminated, Jessia is all set to return home. According to sources, she will leave for Dhaka on Sunday. The 67th Miss World 2017 finale was held at Chimelong Ocean Kingdom in Sanya at 7:30pm local time on Saturday. The two-and-a-half-hour long event was hosted by Tim Vincent, Megan Young and Steve Douglas. As ever, the current Miss World, Stephanie Del Valle of Puerto Rico, crowned her successor at the end of the competition. Following a lot of hype, controversy and stripping of the champion’s title from its former crown winner, Jessia Islam came under the limelight and became the winner of Miss World Bangladesh 2017, and a new face for the 67th Miss World competition, representing Bangladesh. According to latest updates, India’s Manushi Chhillar won the coveted title of Miss World 2017 in its 67th edition making her the 6th Indian to have won the Miss World crown.
