Theater-loving audiences are expected to have a great start on December as Tauquir Ahmed has announced the release of his latest directed film “Haldaa” on December 1. This is the fifth feature film directed by the actor/director.
“The film is currently submitted in the censor board. We are hoping that it will be approved within November. We will release it in the first day of the month of victory- December.” said Tauquir Ahmed.
The three main leads of Haldaa is being played by actors Zahid Hasan, Mosharraf Karim and Nusrat Imrose Tisha. Mosharraf Karim is portraying the character of a fisherman. Zahid Hasan will be seen as the antagonist. Dilara Zaman, Fazlur Rahman Babu, Shahed Ali, Runa Khan will also be seen in minor characters.
The film's story is by Azad Bulbul whereas the screenplay has been written by Tauquir Ahmed himself. The river Haldaa and the life of people living near it has been featured in this film. Issues like the struggles of river-dwelling people, land erosion are going to be focused in the story.
Tauquir Ahmed has expressed that he hopes the film receives commercial success as well as critical appreciation. “Ovi Kothachitro has joined us in the distribution of the film. We want to make sure that it is released in at least 30-40 theaters.” said the director.
is producing the film, the music was directed by Pintu Ghosh. Editing was done by Amit Debnath, sound designer was Ripon Nath.
Tauquir's last film “Oggyatonama” was shown in Cannes Film Festival and won several international awards. He has directed other successful films as “Daruchini Dwip”, “Joyjatra”, “Rupkothar Golpo”.
