Bollywood to witness giant clashes in 2018
A new year is right around the corner, while Bollywood and a large number of audiences are about to witness big clashes at the Box Office. Let’s see which movies are most awaited and going to share release dates with other films next year:

“Aiyaary” -  “Pari”

After “Ae Dil Hain Mushkil” and “Jab Harry Met Sejal,” Anushka Sharma barely received any positive public reaction for any movie. Undoubtedly, she awaits for Pari, her new film to break all her records and become talk of the town. On the other hand, Sidharth Malhotra is currently on top of his career. After “Kaapor & Sons” and “Gentleman,” Sidharth awaits for big budget films like “Aiyaary.” These two Bollywood superstars are going to face a battle next year. Sidharth Malhotra and Manoj Bajpayee’s “Aiyaary” will lock horns with Anushka Sharma - starrer “Pari” on February 9, 2018. While Neeraj Pandey’s “Aiyaary” is a crime-thriller, debutante Prosit Roy explores the mystery-thriller genre with “Pari.” Since both the films cater to a multiplex audience, a good word-of-mouth will play a crucial role for them. However, “Aiyaary” might have the upper hand at the box office since Neeraj Pandey’s films like “A Wednesday,” “Special 26,” “Baby” and “MS Dhoni – The Untold Story” have been received well by the audience.

“Hichki” – “Parmanu”

“Mardaani” actress Rani Mukherjee has been missing from the silver screen for a long time. She is recently looking forward to her comeback film, “Hichki,” which is scheduled to be released in February. In the same month, John Abraham and Diana Penty’s film, “Paramanu – The story of Pokhra” will also hit theatres. Though the films may hit the market at the same time, they may not become rivals in terms of making profit due to their different genres.

“2.0 (Robot 2)” – “October”

Rajinikanth, the God of Indian cinema, whose films mean a lot to the box office, is set to come back for the second instalment of “Robot.” With Akshay alongside Rajinikanth in the project, “Robot 2” is going to be India’s most expensive film ever made. However, India will face a new clash between Rajini and Varun Dhawan as the latter star's latest film, “October,” is also due for release at the same time.  Made with a whopping budget of Rs400 crore, Akshay Kumar and Rajinikanth starrer sci-fi flick is definitely expected to dominate over “October” at the box office. As the films are set to release on April 13, which is Tamil New Year (Vishu), “2.0” will certainly open with a thunderous response at the box office, but since Varun’s film, with darker themes, is also a well-budgeted flick, it is expected that “October” too can safely recover its investments.

“Hate Story 4” – “Drive”

The “Hate Story” franchise is currently popular among the Bollywood audience. Film-goers love to watch “Hate Story” films as every instalment of the franchise had something different to offer. The fourth instalment of the erotic-thriller franchise will lock horns with Sushant Singh Rajput and Jacqueline Fernandez’s “Drive.” Like its predecessors, “Hate Story 4” will be a blend of thriller and erotica, while “Drive” is expected to be an edge-of-the-seat thriller. Since both the films are set to release during the Holi vacation, a decent opening is expected for both films.

“Manikarnika” – “Baaghi 2”

Kangana Ranaut’s epic biographical film, “Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi,” will hit the screens along with Tiger Shroff and Disha Patani’s action entertainer, “Baaghi 2.” Both films have been made on a massive scale, and the clash will undoubtedly affect their businesses. However, “Baaghi 2” will definitely get the advantage because of its previous instalments, as well as for its messy appeal.
