In a touching post in her Facebook profile, Meher Afroz Shaon reminisced her memories about her husband Humayun Ahmed and her children.
She described the story behind the two newly resealed songs in the Facebook post on her birthday in October 12.
In the post, Shaon described how she sang for her husband Humayun Ahmed at the balcony of their home, while he enjoyed the full moon. But, as she had to check on with their two sons Nishad and Ninit, she had time for a song or two for her husband.
After a while, on one evening Humayun Ahmed made a decision to not disturb Shaon while she was tending to her sons for a while. He recorded the songs he wants to hear on Shaon’s voice and played them on a CD player.
She then described on the post how he called Emon Saha as soon as he thought of this idea and later on took his ‘Kusum’ to a studio to record his favorite Rabindranath Tagore songs.
Shaon explained that after a lot of songs were recorded, Humayun had a new idea to release these tracks as a CD so everyone can hear the tracks. But, it never happened.
After recording only seven songs, Shaon described how they had to go away 18 thousand miles to fight cancer and how the songs were put away inside a box.
But sometimes “Chorono dhorite diyo go amare, niyo na niyo na shoraye” was played on a CD player at the 1st floor of 144-01, 90 Avenue, Jamaica, New York.
She concluded the post by saying that these two favorite songs of Humayun Ahmed, and sang by his ‘Kusum’ is a present for everybody on her birthday.
