The media was taken by storm as popular singer Mila filed a case against her husband, Parvez Sanjari, under the Prevention of Repression against Women and Children Act. In a recent statement on Facebook, Mila opened up about the dark tale of her marriage.
Mila's husband Sanjari, who is a commercial air pilot, has apparently been cheating on her with multiple air hostesses of the same airline since the early days of her marriage. Mila tried to confront her husband about the situation but faced both verbal and physical abuse from him. Finally, Mila resorted into informing the airline company's managing director about the situation, but to no result.
She admits that her position as a role model to some of her female fans is what helped her to finally break it off with him. “Mutual respect and trust is the basis of any relationship. I needed to get out of this unhealthy circle and take control of my life.”
Mila married Parvez Sanjari after a 10 year-long relationship with him on May 12, 2017. She turned to her family after first facing assault from her husband and, with their help, took the matter to the police. Sanjari is currently in jail after his bail petition was rejected.
Mila performed at her first concert after her marriage on October 6. In a heartfelt confession to the audience, Mila admitted to divorcing Sanjari and said: “I found out that he was an entirely different person after marriage. He cheated on me with different women, and hit me over petty arguments. None of my friends were allowed to visit my house because he wouldn't allow it. But I convinced myself that I wanted to make it work, so I went along with it. Concerts were out of question.” However, she admitted that it became too much for her and decided that she will take control of her own life.
The singer is currently planning to focus on her work on a more regular basis. She thanked her fans and listeners for supporting her through all these years. “I want to progress in my career with my love and determination for the work I do,” she said.
