The king Khan of Dhaliwood is back in FDC after an absence of eight months. Last Friday, Shakib showed up at the office of Bangladesh Film Artists’ Association (BFAA) without any notice and received a warm welcome from the board. The current committee of BFAA went through some rough patches with Shakib over its election held in May 2017. Several comments from Shakib later compelled BFAA to urge its film related organisations to ban Shakib from their ventures.
However, BFAA general secretary Zayed Khan denied this incident saying, “BFAA never banned anyone. This is a platform for artists.” Zayed further added that Shakib is a valued member of the film industry and announced that Shakib, the former president of BFAA, is going to be kept as an advisor for the organisation. Shakib also started working on Uttam Akash’s film Ami Neta Hobo on the same day.
Shakib Khan occupied the presidential chair in BFAA during his last visit and spent a jolly afternoon with the members. He urged everyone to work together to save the film industry. “Our industry is in very poor condition at present. A lot of people are unemployed. We have to focus on producing quality films together,” said Shakib.
