Australian TV features Bangladeshi model Peya

Update : 30 Sep 2017, 12:06 AM
Bangladeshi model-actress Jannatul Peya is set to be cast in popular Australian TV show Sixty Minutes Australia, which is recognised for featuring interviews of famous personalities. Peya has confirmed the news to Showtime on September 28. “Two months earlier, I was contacted by the programme coordinators. Last week, they visited Dhaka to take my interview. I have worked with them on the streets of Dhaka as well as indoors,” confirmed Peya over a phone call from Bangkok. Peya has created a phenomenal presence in the international modeling arena and recently landed the cover photo of Vogue India, which is a first for any Bangladeshi celebrity. She became an obvious choice for the producers of Sixty Minutes Australia. “I told them about my career as a model on the international platform. Me being on the cover photo of India’s Vogue was another focus of the interview. Later on, we reflected on the death of  Vogue model Raudha Athif,” said Peya when asked about what she had been asked in the interview. The October 2016 issue’s cover of Vogue India collectively featured models from six other SAARC countries, including Pooja Mor from India, Shenelle Rodrigo of Sri Lanka, Varsha Thapa from Nepal, Deki Wangmo of Bhutan, and Maldivian Raudha Athif. Among them, Raudha Athif, who had visited Bangladesh as a student, met an untimely and tragic death here.
