Music enthusiasts organise unplugged session at DU campus

Update : 27 Sep 2017, 04:48 PM
A group of music enthusiasts of TSC DU, Sodium Batir Gaan, organised its fifth and final episode of season 2 of unplugged music session on September 26. The music session was held at the games room at Teacher-Student Centre (TSC), University of Dhaka. The event focused on celebrating a distinct style of campus music. The lineup had diverse musicians ranging from fresh acts to headliners. The event saw performances of Owned, Blue Periscope, Retromaniac Nafis, Chander Gari, Syed Farhad and Ganje Fereshta from 4pm to 9pm. Each artist performed for 45-60 minutes. The idea to organise a live music session regularly was first pitched in 2015 by Yasin Shafi Khan, a graduate of the Department of Development Studies at University of Dhaka. The idea was implemented in 2016. According to Yasin, most concerts are either too big or are organised only on special occasions, such as for charity.  He added: “We wanted to provide solely a musical experience that everyone can enjoy with their friends.” The unsponsored event was run by music enthusiasts of TSC.
