After the immense success of his latest horror film It, director Andy Muschietti has now decided to make a film based on a novel titled Pet Sematary, written by Stephen King. According to Entertainment Weekly, the director has decided to make film on the horror novel which saw the dead come back to life.
Muschietti said, “My affection for Pet Sematary will go on until I die. I will always dream about the possibility of making a movie on it.”
Barbara Muschietti, the co-producer and Muschietti’s sister said, “...it is the first Stephen King book that we read, and it’s something we love, because it is possibly King’s most personal book. You can imagine his young family. What will you do to be able to keep your family? How far would you go? But if we do it, we have to do it justice, like we did with It. The versions we’ve read in the past years, the scripts we’ve read have not been, in our opinion, representative of the book.”
The novel was first adapted for the big screen back in 1989.
