Lady Gaga is anticipating that her upcoming Netflix documentary will raise awareness of chronic illness. The star battles with fibromyalgia, a common and complex chronic pain disorder that causes widespread pain and tenderness to touch that may occur body wide or migrate over the body.
The 31-year old singer wrote on Twitter on Tuesday, “In our documentary the #chronicillness #chronicpain I deal w/ is #Fibromyalgia I wish to help raise awareness & connect people who have it.”
Recently at the Toronto International Film, Lady Gaga opened about how the film titled Five Foot Two explores her struggle. The pop star was seen at a doctor’s office in the first teaser for the documentary.
Lady Gaga reportedly said about her struggle, “It’s hard. But it’s liberating, too.”
The singer previously revealed her chronic pain in an Instagram post back in 2016, “Having a frustrating day with chronic pain, but I find myself feeling so blessed to have such strong intelligent female doctors.”
Five Foot Two is slated to come out on Netflix on September 22.
