Former First Lady Michelle Obama, Serena Williams, Kelly Rowland and other famous friends of Beyonce recreated the singer’s “Formation” look marking her birthday, Monday.
The celebrities took photographs donning the pigtail braids, black hat, and the statement necklace from the “Formation” music video which were posted on Beyonce’s website on Monday.
Because of images highlighted in the music video, the song has faced controversy from police groups which featured Beyonce standing on a sinking police cruiser in the intro. The music video also depicted a wall that reads, “stop shooting us,” and puts on show a child dancing in front of police officers who are wearing riot gear.
However, the former First Lady’s decision to recreate Beyonce’s look from the “Formation” music video is sure to raise some eyebrows.
Meanwhile, Beyonce’s husband led the crowd during the Made in America music festival on Sunday, by singing a birthday song to his wife on Sunday. The crowd captured a video of Jay-Z on the stage and posted it on social media, which also shows Beyonce smiling from the audience, and dancing along.
Born and raised in Houston, Beyonce turned 36 on September 4.
