Marking the Eid-ul-Azha, various TV channels in the country are set to entice the audience with their diverse programs, from drama series to talk shows. Here is a glimpse of what TV ventures the channels have to offer.
SINGLE EPISODE TV PLAY
Written and directed by Masud Hasan Ujjal, a single episode play – Das Cabin tells a story of how class-division in a society creates ground for oppression. It revolves around few people who dream of a socialist revolution. Das Cabin casts Azad Abul Kalam, Iresh Zaker, Sharlin Farzana which will be aired on GTV, on Eid day at 11pm.
Pranbonto Prithok Puroosh
Abul Hayat directed adaptation of Rabeya Khatun’s story titled Pranbonto Prithok Puroosh. The single episode play, casts Shahed Sharif Khan and Farhana Mili as the lead, and will be aired on Channel I, on Eid day at 7:50pm.
Sona Banu, a directorial venture of Salauddin Lavlu, will be aired on the Eid day on Channel I, at 9:35pm. Written by Kazi Shahidul Islam, the single episode TV play casts Badhon, Shoshi, Shormi Mala, and Mahmudul Islam Mithu.
Nayeem plays the role of Bakhtiar in the single episode drama of a young man from a village who carries patients on his bike to the hospital. Bakhtiar saves many lives through his endeavour and his popularity starts to flourish which eventually leads to his clash with a political leader in the village. Polash Mahbub wrote the drama while Abu Hayat Mahmud directed it, which will be aired on Maasranga TV, on the third day of Eid at 10:30pm.
Shatabdi Wadud and Azmeri Asha starring Pashapashi tells the story of an ordinary young man who becomes extraordinary in the society through his intention and determination of making a change. Directed by Shibbir Ahmed Manna, the single episode drama will be aired on Desh TV on the fourth day of Eid, at 7:35pm.
Written by Bipasha Hayat, the play is directed by Tania Ahmed and casts Nobel, Mamo, Nyeem and Saberi Alam which will be aired on Channel i on third day of Eid, at 9:35pm.
Written and directed by Tauquir Ahmed, the telefilm titled Pratipakkhya will be aired on Channel i on the sixth day of Eid, at 2:30pm. The telefilm stars Bhabna, Moushumi Nag, Arman Parvez Murad, Rajeeb Salehin and Tauquir Ahmed.
Osthir Samay Swastir Golpo
With the supervision of Amitabh Reza Chowdhury and Mezbaur Rahman Suman, seven directors have made their first TV ventures for a series titled Osthir Samay Swastir Golpo. The seven directors includes Nuhash Humayun, Anam Biswas, Tanvir Ahsan, Zaheen Faruq Ameen, Syed Ahmed Shawki, Md Abid Mollik, and Sukarna Shahed Dheeman. Each episode will be aired on GTV, starting from the first day of Eid to the sixth day of Eid, at 9:30pm everyday. The series will also be available on bioscopelive.com.
Fande Poria Boga Kande
Written and directed by RB Pritam, the series stars Iresh Zaker, Saju Khadem, Arfan Ahmed, and Shabnam Faria. The story revolves around a couple who travel to Nepal with a hope that their detoriating relationship would survive. However, they meet two bachelors at the airport which led them to an unexpected and a memorable event of their lives.
A three-episode drama series titled Golmaal revolves around three friends who were very close during their graduation days. They take a break from their present life to fulfil a wish from the past. Directed by Imraul Rafat, Golmaal casts Mishu Sabbir, Tousif, Prova and Safa Kabir and the series will be aired on Deepto TV from the second day of Eid at 12am, everyday.
Kerani Bonam Karnegi
Masud Mahiuddin’s seven-episode TV series, Kerani Bonam Karnegi stars Mosharraf Karim, Jui Karim, Shatabdi Wadud, Rashed Manum Opu and Shamima Tushti which will be aired on Asian TV, from Eid day to sixth day of Eid at 9pm, everyday.
Wind of Change, Season 2
Continuing on its success from Season 1, Wind of Change, which features live studio-recorded music performances by established and emerging artists, is set to return on Gaan Bangla TV.
Artistes of the second season will be a combination of seasoned and young singers including Ostad Niaz Mohammad Chowdhury, Bari Siddiqui, Subir Nandi, Bappa Mazumder, Kaushik Hossain Taposh, Jane Alam, Aditi Mohsin, Chisti Baul, Hridoy Khan, Pathik Nabi, Belal Khan, Luipa and Shamim.
Kaushik Hossain Taposh directed the music for the show while it features many talented musicians from all over the world playing instruments or as backing vocals.
The show will be aired on the first three days of Eid-ul-Adha.
