With an appropriately epic season finale, Game of Thrones may have wrapped up its latest season on Sunday night, but HBO won’t leave fans completely in the dark until the next year’s final season.
HBO had planned a seven-part behind-the-scenes series focusing on season 7 titled The Game Revealed and its first episode is available now on HBO Now, HBO Go, HBO On Demand and affiliated portals.
The first episode of The Game Revealed opens with a look at the opening scene from Season 7 as Jeremy Podeswa, the episode’s director, explains why that scene was chosen to begin the season. He also explains how Maisie Williams was given a realistic mask of David Bradley’s face to help sell the illusion of Arya’s disguise.

David Benioff, the co-showrunner, talked about why they approached Ed Sheeran for a cameo as a Lannister soldier.
In addition, the episode also delves into the creation of Cersei’s map room at King’s Landing, and the prosthetics behind the army of the dead.
Following episodes of the series feature interviews with the cast and crew that provide new info and insights on how some of the biggest moments from the latest season evolved.
With subsequent episodes following every week, the next episode will be released on Monday, September 4.
