Shironamhin and Tanzir Tuhin are undoubtedly two of the most popular names in the band music scene of Bangladesh. The former is the name of an independent band which dared to infuse traditional classical instruments such as sarod, esraj, mandira and dotara along with rock music, providing the local rock music enthusiasts with a new dimension of rock music, while the latter is the voice of the band.
Despite being a successful and widely appreciated vocalist, Tuhin has never lent his voice to any track except for his band’s. But much to the delight of his fans, the musician, singer-songwriter, actor and architect is all set to release his first ever solo venture this Eid.
Titled “Tobu,” the lyrics and tune of the track has been provided by another famous musician, Ahmed Razib.
“Shironamhin is my favourite band. There’s something exceptional in Tuhin bhai’s voice and I love it. This is a matter of great pleasure for me that Tuhin bhai is singing his first solo song based on my lyrics and tune,” said Razib.
Tuhin, on the other hand, said that he agreed to sing the track only because it met all his demands as an artist. “I don’t usually sing without my band since I don’t feel comfortable. I’ve received many offers but most of them barely met my demands, which is why I rejected them. But this time, I decided to step out and accept the offer because actually I liked it. I hope my fans will like it,” said the 42-year-old who joined Shironamhin back in 2000 and has been rocking the local music scene ever since.
“The special track will be released under CMV’s banner this Eid and will be available in YouTube, GP Music and the Robi-Yonder Music app,” confirmed Ahmed Razib.
