Fazlur Rahman Babu and Mosharraf Karim, both have been lauded for their acting chops on the small and big screen. They shared screen many times in both media. Now, Mosharraf Karim is set to take the partnership up a notch by lip-syncing in a song Babu sang for a film.
Babu, who previously gathered acclaim by singing in Giasuddin Selim’s Monpura, said that his main field is acting but he loves to sing. “I am a man of acting. However, some of my musical ventures have been well received by fans. That’s why sometimes I give singing a try. The song has a bit of a folk melody to it. I hope people will like the track,” Babu said.
The song will be used in Sitara, an Indian Bangla film in which Mosharraf Karim will share screen with Bollywood diva Madhuri Dixit.
Directed by Ashish Kumar Roy, Sitara features Mosharraf Karim playing a bodyguard for Madhuri’s character. Based on a story of Bangla classic writer Abul Bashar, the story of Sitara revolves around the bootlegging that occurs across the borders of Bangladesh and India. Kaushik Sen from Kolkata will play another major role in the film.
Tariq Tuhin penned lyrics for the song and Emon Saha composed the music. Babu completed tracking his vocal early this month.
