Cate Blanchett is on the verge of landing a role in The House With a Clock in Its Walls.
The Academy Award winner would star alongside Black Jack in the big screen version of the gothic horror novel.
Directed by Eli Roth, the film is an adaptation of the 1973 horror novel by author John Bellairs, while Eric Kripke, the creator of Supernatural, will pen the film’s screenplay.
The story revolves around a recently orphaned 10-year-old boy, who finds himself in a world of hidden passageways, magic, and danger in his uncle’s old house. Soon, the boy discovers a clock inside the walls of his house that is designed to bring about doomsday.
The Lord of the Rings alum has a list of exciting upcoming films including Ocean’s 8 and a Lucille Ball biopic for Amazon. She will also be seen as the villainous Hela in Thor: Ragnarok.
