Mostofa Sarwar Farooki’s upcoming film Doob (No Bed of Roses) has been invited to participate the Asia Pacific Screen Awards (APSA) in competition section. The director has confirmed the news via a Facebook post on Monday.
One of the prestigious international cultural initiative of the Brisbane City Council, Australia, to honour and promote the films, actors, directors and cultures of the Asia-Pacific region, the Asia Pacific Screen Awards’ (APSA) 11th edition will be presented in Brisbane on November 23, 2017.
Earlier, the Irrfan Khan and Nusrat Imrose Tisha starring film won the Kommersant Weekend Prize in the 39th Moscow International Film Festival.
A joint venture between Bangladesh and India, the film has been produced by Abdul Aziz and Irrfan Khan under the banner of Jaaz Multimedia and Irrfan Khan Films, respectively, along with India’s Eskay Movies.
The film also casts Kolkata’s Parno Mittra and Rokeya Prachy.
Recently, the film has finally received the censor board’s nod, which was initially barred by the censor board for almost six months. On August 7, it was finally permitted to release with some adjustments to the original version previously submitted while the film is yet to announce a release date.
APSA collaborates with UNESCO and FIAPF-International Federation of Film Producers Associations.
